The latest 2020AW collaboration BLACKHEAD Studio presented Mechanical “Garden 2.0” with AUBRUINO. This series continues the use of BLACKHEAD’s classic 316L Steel which is ecofriendly with hypoallergenic and corrosion resistant properties, and the crafting techniques for this series are rather complicated and exquisite.

AUBRUINO is a creative studio integrating clothing, visual and installation art. Their works seek to explore the values and contradictions between "technology and the future" in our society, and use them to broaden the infinite possibilities in the fashion industry. AUBRUINO has had close cooperation with artists and brands in many different fields, including shoe brand ASICS, fashion brand Vivienne Westwood and Nina Ricci, musician and artist Kazy Lambist, leather goods brand William & Son etc.

The collaboration between BLACKHEAD and AUBRUINO is long awaited. The concept draws its inspiration from Miroslaw Balka‘s art installation “Play Pit”, where a black granite coffin pit was filled with colorful plastic play balls. The pit and the balls provide a sharp contrast with each other in terms of material and color, resembling serious and playful, everlasting and perishable. Mechanical Garden based its concept on natural ecology. Now is the future. As global warming greatly impacts our lives on earth, carbon dioxide level continues to rise, plants and living organisms are dying out faster than before. Mechanical Garden is made to escape from the reality. It’s for eternity, defying climate, time and death, preserving something we wish that could last forever. It formed an ultra-realistic mirror world. But eventually, we have to break away from the embrace of innocence, heading towards the end of unforeseen results. AUBRUINO devotes the imagination of the "flower" girl to the future, which is also the awakening process of the "flower" girl, growing out of romance and innocence to embrace the realities.
